These are some of the covers I designed for a series of compilation albums.
You Bring Light In
The cover here was based around the lyrics & euphoric feeling of one of the tracks on the album.
Black Snow
These compilations were created by Snowdog & this one celebrated their favourite music of black origin.
Coaster
This cover design was making fun of the fact that if you didn’t like a CD, you might end up using it as a coaster, as explained in the brass disc that takes the place of the pub table number, when you open the sleeve out.
Everest The Hard Way
The cover design here was making a joke out of being sure to wear protective clothing for your adventures but choosing the completely wrong gear.
Greener
This album had a track list that started off very slowly, gradually built up as it went along & then ended quietly again. The cover design alludes to this gradual incline which ultimately descends again, to a place that’s out of sight. Where the grass is always greener.
Vanishing Point
In this design we’re looking down the length of a guitar fretboard that disappears off into the distance.
Magpie
Because they collect shiny things, right? And what else is a great compilation album than a collection of shiny things, at least in the eyes of the compiler. This one features yours truly on the cover.
Vox Humana
This album celebrates the numerous ways in which the human voice is used in music.
4x3
A compilation from the 4x3 series featuring four tracks by three artists. In this case, Tool, Gary Numan & Rush. The eggs, of course, being used to represent three things in one, as they often are in religious allegory.
